03.30.2021 The first production meeting for the new single "Red Number 5" went fabulously well! John and I have been messaging back and forth about the sonic vibe and vision we have for the project, and what key we'll cut the song in. I originally wrote the song and debuted it live in a songwriters round in the key of Ab...though per John's wise guidance and direction we're going to record it a whole step up in the key of Bb. I recorded an acoustic demo of myself performing the song here in my home office studio in California for him and the other members of our team to listen and get a feel for the track an ocean away in the UK. Here's a shot of co-producer Colin Elliot and guitarist Shez Sheridan giving the song a first listen at Yellow Arch Studios in Sheffield, England working up ideas for arrangements and further instrumentations.
